Why do we have date markings on our products?
At IGEN, we strive to create products that last—both in quality and (sentimental) value.
One day, our entire team was sitting in the office, sharing stories about our own belongings—some of them years old—when we realized just how much we love taking care of our things. Not least, we reflected on how certain items carry unique memories.
That sparked an idea: How cool would it be if we could track the lifespan of a product?
For our customers, it could help create a deeper sentimental connection with their IGEN products, serving as proof of how they’ve used them again and again over the seasons and years. And for us, as a company, it would allow us to track how long our products actually last—helping us stay committed to the importance of long-lasting quality.
That’s how the idea for IGEN’s date marking was born!
Many brands already use date or collection markings, such as "Fall Winter 2024," to track the seasons. But while these brands release entirely new collections every season, we at IGEN take a slightly different approach.
We don’t launch new products every three months just because the seasons change. However, we still loved the idea of being able to track when a product was created. That’s why we’ve introduced date marking on all our products produced after the summer of 2024.
This doesn’t just give each product a history—it also adds a personal touch, a reminder of when you first enjoyed it. We look forward to the day when "Fall 2024" is no longer the present but a memory of a special time.
And we hope your IGEN products last so long that one day, you'll notice the date marking and think back to all the good times you've had with it— IGEN & IGEN
