We donate 1% of our revenue – but why?

At IGEN, our desire is to contribute to a lifestyle where we strive to do better and find meaning in our actions. That is why, among other things, we have chosen to donate 1% of our turnover to charity. The best part? It costs you as a customer nothing extra! Every time you shop with us, you can choose which of our three charity partners we will support with 1% of your purchase.

Who do we support?

We have carefully selected three organizations that work with different aspects of sustainability within the three pillars; economic, environmental and social sustainability. Here you will get an insight into what each of them does and why we have chosen to support them:

El Cambio Academy

El Cambio Academy is a non-profit organization in Uganda that uses football as a platform for social change. They offer education, mentoring and training to young boys and girls from impoverished areas. Their goal is to develop both sporting and academic skills to give these children better future opportunities. Ida, who is part of TEAM IGEN, visited the academy for the first time in 2021 - and it quickly became her heart project. It quickly became so for the entire TEAM IGEN when we visited El Cambio Academy in the spring of 2024 and shared 10 days with the most beautiful children and cool teams behind it. IGEN is proud to support El Cambio through both our donations and our Ruffle Shopper , which is produced locally in Uganda. When you buy a Ruffle Shopper, you help the children at El Cambio Academy with a whopping 100 kr; donations that help with access to a better education and a brighter future.

Plastic Change

Plastic Change is an international environmental organization with roots in Denmark. Their mission is to combat plastic pollution globally, both in the oceans and on land. They work specifically with research, education and political influence to reduce plastic consumption and improve recycling methods. Among their projects are monitoring plastic pollution on beaches, analyses of microplastics in the oceans and campaigns aimed at stopping single-use plastic. IGEN was founded with the desire to help minimize single-use plastic, which is why this organization is one we have followed since IGEN's start in 2019.

Break the Silence

Domestic violence is one of the most taboo forms of abuse, and Bryd Tavsheden works to break this silence. They offer anonymous advice, support and guidance to children, young people and adults who experience violence. Their work also includes awareness campaigns and collaboration with schools to create a safe environment where young people can seek help. Louise Bjerre, founder of IGEN, has also done voluntary work for Bryd Tavsheden since 2018.
